Library Campaign: Continuing to challenge closure
4) Support our campaign and send a letter or email of support – we firmly believe that the library is a hugely important part of our community and it could be so much more. The services currently on offer at the library are important to our community, so rather than close the facility we believe that we could enhance and strengthen the offering to make the library a key part of the Pittenweem Community.
If you agree then you can help by contacting the people who can affect the decision. Below are the names and addresses of some of the people who may be able to play a part in the decision on the closure of this library and a brief message that you can use as the basis of a letter or email to them. Please consider sending this to some or all of the people and groups listed to show your support for this valuable community service.

Dear [see below for suggested recipients],
I am very disappointed that Fife Council and Fife Cultural Trust are planning to close the Pittenweem Library. This facility is so much more than just a place where people go to get books; it is one of the few remaining community facilities in the town and I firmly believe that we should be enhancing and strengthening the offerings to include more services for more people.
Members of the Pittenweem Library Group have already submitted a petition against closure, and Pittenweem Community Trust (PiCT) is trying to engage with Fife Council and Fife Cultural Trust to try to ensure that we do not lose this valuable local resource.
I support these efforts to keep our library open, and ask for your support to ensure that the Pittenweem Library continues to provide services to the community.
Yours sincerely,
